Referral and Assessment
We provide aquatic therapy on an in-patient and out-patient basis and participants are typically referred by their healthcare providers. After an initial assessment, each aquatic therapy session is individually designed to meet the participant's needs and goals. Therapy sessions are professionally supervised and usually last 15 to 45 minutes. All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to beginning aquatic therapy sessions.
Out-Patient Appointments
We are committed to providing appointments that meet your scheduling needs. Aquatic therapy and exercise sessions will be made available in the early morning and into the later evening hours

Insurance and Authorizations
Most insurance providers reimburse a limited number of aquatic (physical and occupational) therapy visits with a physician's referral. If you have questions about your coverage, call your insurance provider. Medicare Part A (in-patient) and Medicare Part B (out-patient) requires all aquatic therapy participants to be under the care of a doctor and have a signed referral.
Our trained aquatic specialists will work directly with the insurance provider for prior authorization before starting pool sessions. We will submit claims to the insurer for the assessment and for pool sessions.
In-patients at Dove Healthcare - South: There is no additional charge to use the pool as part of your therapy while you are residing at Dove Healthcare - South under Medicare Part A.
Community Members/Aquatic Exercise Clients: A physician's referral will not be required for community members using the pool on a private pay basis, solely for training or wellness purposes.
